Swashbuckler Half Ironman – May 31st

Six club members travelled down to the New Forest for the Swashbuckler Half Ironman race last weekend.  All six were doing the race in preparation for Ironman Austria on July 5th and the 80 degrees plus heat gave them a taster of what that's going to be like!  First home from Hereford was Ian Rivers in a very impressive 19th place overall and 4th vet in 4:25:42. He finished the 49 mile bike split in the second fastest time of the day in 2:09:03.  Next in was Andy Taylor in 4:41:11 and Jon Tetley who finished in 4:45:43 despite being poorly.  Nicola Goodwin was the first Hereford woman home in 14th place for the girls and 3rd in her age group in 5:09:01 (including the second fastest women's swim time) followed closely by Claire Hebblethwaite in 5:13:51 and Katherine Drabble in 6:21:54.
