Hereford Tri-club on form at St. Michaels Hospice Hereford half marathon...

Well done to all the members of Hereford Triathlon Club who took part in the annual St. Michaels Hospice Hereford Half Marathon.  It was great to see so many of us running or cheering friends on.  There were some quick times as well which bodes well for the forthcoming season.

Anthony Waddington was the first Hereford Triathlon Club member home in an impressive 1:26:34, he finished in 27th place overall.  New club member Malcolm Osbourne was next over the line in 1:30:53 and 49th place.  Well done to the (mad fools) 14 club members who did a very wet and windy 60 mile bike ride before doing the half marathon as part of their training for Ironman Austria.  The first three from the wet and bedraggled group to finish were Colin Kerfoot (1:31:14), Jon Tetley (1:31:36) and Andy Taylor (1:32:00) followed by Ian Christy (1:34:47) and Ian Rivers (1:35:56).

Graeme Thomas continued his '40 events for my 40th birthday' mission by finishing in 1:40:41 followed by Chris Payne (1:44:08) and Claire Hebblethwaite who was the first woman from Hereford Traithlon Club home and had also done the mad bike route first.  She finished in 1:45:39 followed in by Jenny Papworth (1:46:15), Tricia Wright (1:48:09) and Nicola Goodwin (another cyclist in 1:48:10).  Mark 'Dodge' Dykes followed the first ladies home in 1:49:24 (he cycled as well), with Keith Williams (1:50:54), Kent Randall (1:52:53) and Gerry West (1:58:41) continuing the great turn out from the club.

Two more of our Ironman group Les Morris (2:08:32) and Chris Head (2:12:00) managed to dry out a bit on the run and congratulations to our four remaining female Ironman trainers (Iron Ladies!) who were still smiling as they crossed the line despite the horendous rain; Kath Drabble (2:13:05), Kay Harris (2:33:16), Julie Hardman (2:36:03) and Abby Maisey (2:36:28).  Well done everybody!
